Understand your cash total.

Add the face value of Indian notes and coins by denomination. The counter includes paise and an optional field for ₹2,000 notes if you still hold them.

The result is a total of entered pieces. It does not establish authenticity, collectible value or exchange eligibility.

A worked example.

Using this calculator’s default inputs, total cash counted is ₹5,000.00. This is an illustration of the stated formula, not a forecast.

A common mistake to avoid

Including old demonetised ₹500 or ₹1,000 notes in ordinary spendable cash.

Questions you might have.

Why is ₹2,000 optional?

Those notes were withdrawn from circulation; the linked RBI material explains their legal-tender status. The counter only adds their face value if entered.

Can I count half-rupee coins?

Yes. Enter their quantity in the 50 paise field; the total preserves paise.

How we calculate it

Multiply each denomination by the number of pieces, then add the subtotals. 50 paise is ₹0.50.

Assumptions & things to know

Counts monetary face value only, not authenticity, exchange eligibility or collectible value. Use current valid ₹500 notes; old demonetised ₹500 / ₹1,000 notes are excluded. ₹2,000 notes are optional because they were withdrawn from circulation.
